Job Offer Letter Opt

Accepting Job Offer - Legal Contract?
I have accepted a job offer by signing the offer letter. This letter was without any contract or any details in case I back out. But now I have got another offer which is better in all terms. I want to opt for option 2. I know ethically it is wrong to back out from my earlier acceptance but I just have to select the best for my career sake. When I signed the offer letter, did I actually get into any contract with the company? In other words, is their any legal implication in backing out from an accepted offer??? Please help me in this...time is ticking and I am stuck..!!!!
There are zero legal implications. It is merely an affirmation that you accepted the job. It is quite standard in many companies. On more than one occasion the firm I am employed at has sent the ofference letter only for the person to decide they are no longer interested. It is more common than you can imagine. Take the better offer with a clear mind. Just give them the courtesy to advise them as soon as possible you were offered an opportunity that better fits your career goals and thank them for their time.
